We did not build another activity tool. We built the operational platform that runs the entire engagement department.

Our Founder

The Story Behind DayGuide

I'm Mark Simmons Jr, Founder of DayGuide AI and Managing Director at Attentive Adult Day Center, working directly in a real care environment every day.

I saw the problem up close: adult care facilities run on disconnected tools, paper calendars, manual reports, and institutional knowledge that lives in one person's head. Programming, menus, staff training, compliance, communications - all scattered across different systems or not systematized at all.

No platform existed to run the whole operation. There were activity idea apps and niche tools, but nothing unified operations, engagement, communications, compliance, and care planning into one system.

So I built one. Not from theory, but from the workflows I run every single day at my own facility.

DayGuide AI is not another activity suggestion app. It is the operational platform that runs the entire engagement operation - calendar and menu generation, participant profiles, games and exercise studios, a communications hub with speech board and ASL library, staff training and certification tracking, compliance reporting, and individualized care plans, all unified under Nova AI.

And I quickly realized that families caring for aging parents or loved ones at home face the same operational gap - no system, no support, just doing it all manually every day.

The Why

The Why Behind It

The issue is not a lack of care or effort. It is that:

  • Planning is repetitive and time consuming
  • New ideas are constantly required
  • Staff are balancing multiple responsibilities
  • Families at home carry that same daily burden, alone, without a team or system to lean on

This leads to less time spent actually engaging with participants and residents, which is the part that matters most.

Staff end up spending more time on admin and planning than on meaningful interactions. The quality of care doesn't decrease because of lack of care. It decreases because the system demands too much upfront work just to run one activity.

For families, the weight is even heavier. There's no team, no shift rotation, no resource library. Just a family member trying to figure out what to do to keep their loved one engaged today, and then again tomorrow.

DayGuide AI exists to remove that friction for everyone, and give time back so caregivers, whether professional or family, can focus on what actually matters: being present with the people in their care.

Our Philosophy

AI + Human Care

DayGuide AI is designed to support caregivers - whether professional staff or a family member at home - not replace them. The magic happens when AI handles the logistics and humans handle the relationships.

  • AI handles planning, ideation, and logistics
  • Staff and families focus on connection, adaptation, and human presence
  • AI provides ready-to-use structure and content
  • Caregivers bring the energy, flexibility, and personal touch that makes activities meaningful
  • For families at home, AI becomes the support system they never had, so they can just be present with their loved one

No one, professional or family, is meant to be an artist, writer, and activity director on top of everything else they're carrying. They're meant to be present with the people in front of them.

The result is stronger engagement, better outcomes, and less burnout - for everyone involved in care.

Inclusive Design

Cognitive Support

Adults, whether in a facility or at home, have different cognitive abilities, and one-size-fits-all activities do not work.

DayGuide AI helps by:

  • Generating adaptable activities suited to your loved one's or participant's abilities
  • Supporting a range of cognitive levels including Alzheimer's and dementia
  • Providing options for memory care, social engagement, and movement
  • Giving families at home the same quality of cognitive engagement tools that professional facilities rely on

This allows both professional staff and family caregivers to deliver more thoughtful, inclusive, and meaningful engagement every day.

Built to Last

Real World Usability

This platform was built from real workflow, not theory, and designed for anyone caring for adults - whether at a facility or at home.

Everything is designed to:

  • Reduce planning time for staff and families alike
  • Simplify daily execution, no technical experience required
  • Provide ready-to-use activities for any setting, facility or home
  • Fit naturally into how facilities operate and how families actually live

If it does not make the day easier - for a professional caregiver or a family at home - it does not belong in the product.
